Meet Our Production Pros:
Evan Albertson

By FP1 Strategies

In this installment of “Meet Our Production Pros,” we’re featuring the contributions of Senior Director Evan Albertson. Evan works out of our Austin, Texas office. An experienced campaign manager and messaging strategist, Evan specializes in providing general consulting services to our political clients. He also writes television, digital and radio scripts and is becoming increasingly involved in our shoot process.

Evan is a steady hand under pressure. He’s great at managing candidates and their campaign teams, and he’s a skilled writer and communicator. Evan’s broad range of skills strengthens our creative team and helps our clients reach 50+1 on Election Day.

“I’ve known Evan since he first graduated from college,” said Partner Corry Bliss. “Evan was part of Senator Rob Portman’s trendsetting 2016 reelection campaign and played a pivotal role in our sophisticated ground game. He came with me to the Congressional Leadership Fund and helped save several vulnerable Republican seats in a tough environment. I then brought him to Texas to manage Congressman Michael McCaul’s reelection campaign in a toss-up district. Evan has impressed me at every stage of his young career, and I’m glad he’s on our FP1 team.”

“Evan is developing into a top-notch GC,” said FP1 Partner Annie Kelly Kuhle. “As he advances his career, Evan’s strong writing skills and ability to create quality advertising will help him stand out in a very competitive industry. Evan has a great attitude. He’s easy to work with and always focused on delivering the best results for our clients, while being respectful and supportive of our other team members. I look forward to working with Evan for several cycles to come and am excited to see him get the most out of his talents and the opportunities that exist at FP1 for people willing to earn it.”

What’s your alma mater?

The College of Wooster.

What brought you to Texas?

I moved to Texas in May 2019 to work on a congressional campaign, and it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I met my wife the next month and I’ve called Texas home ever since. I’m even a proud owner of a pair of Texas cowboy boots.

What do you like best about working at FP1?

There aren’t many things in life where there is such a clear, binary measure of success like a campaign. No moral victories. No “we’ll get ‘em next time”. You win or you lose. I love to win, and nobody is better at winning than FP1.

What is the most memorable/favorite political campaign you’ve worked on?

There is nothing like your first campaign. Throughout high school or college, I’d never worked on a campaign, had never heard of College Republicans, and didn’t even understand what canvassing was. After college, I volunteered for Rob Portman’s U.S. Senate campaign in Ohio as something different to try. Not long after, I was hired as a full-time staffer and it felt like drinking from a firehose. I learned a lot, made some really good friends and got a look into what it takes to win a tough fight.

The 2022 cycle was incredibly memorable as well. I worked on a congressional campaign in a district that had over 800 miles of U.S.-Mexico border. We made countless trips to the border and seeing the Biden Border Crisis so many times with my own eyes is something I won’t forget.

What’s your favorite podcast?

PBD Podcast.

What’s the last book you read?

“Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder” by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

What’s your favorite movie?

Depending on the day, either The Dark Knight or Rocky II.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?

A perfect Saturday would entail going to the gun range, getting in some exercise, taking my daughter to the park and cooking dinner with my wife.

What’s your go-to restaurant in Austin?

Hands-down, Matt’s El Rancho.

If you could have dinner with one historical figure, who’d it be and why?

Mother Teresa – I just know she would have so much valuable wisdom to pass along.
