In this installment of “Meet Our Production Pros,” we’re featuring the contributions of Associate Graydon Davies. Graydon joined our firm after doing an internship with Fox & Friends. At FP1, Graydon serves as a production coordinator, working with our creative team to help manage the logistics and planning of our film shoots. He also works on our proofing team, ensuring that our ads are error-free, and he assists our general consultants with their client needs. Graydon is also an important member of our new business team, ensuring that our pitch materials are top-notch and that our partners and managing directors have the information they need to sign races.
In a short time, Graydon has quickly learned the ropes on how to manage high-profile shoots. He’s developing important operational skills, sharpening his understanding of Republican politics and positioning himself for future professional success.
“I’ve been impressed by Graydon’s attention to detail and his positive attitude,” said Partner Trent Wisecup. “FP1 is a fast-paced business. Things can get stressful here. Graydon has a cool head on his shoulders and a strong work ethic. He’s making important contributions to our business on many different fronts, and I look forward to seeing him advance his career at FP1. Graydon can also hit the hell out of a golf ball.”

What are your responsibilities at FP1?
At FP1, I work on the advertising, proofing, and political teams. On the advertising team, I am one of our production coordinators, working with our client teams and in-house production pros to manage the logistics and planning of our ad shoots and assist our team and crew on set to ensure that the shoots run smoothly. I also work on the proofing team, ensuring that all of our ads are error-free and up to our award-winning standards, and on the political team, assisting our partners and managing directors with new business pitches.
What’s your alma mater?
I attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
What do you like best about working at FP1?
My favorite thing about FP1 is that every day is different, whether it’s on the road or in the office, but our incredible team still manages to work together to ensure that all of our clients’ needs are met even when the travel schedule is at its busiest.
What’s your favorite FP1 ad?
My favorite FP1 ad is “Wizard” with MLB Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith for the Winning for Missouri Education ballot initiative.
How did you become a Packers fan?
My grandfather is from Greenwood, South Carolina. During his time on the Greenwood High School football team, the Packers rebranded with their now iconic “G” logo. My grandfather’s team wanted to adopt the logo and color scheme but needed permission from the Packers’ organization to do so. They wrote a letter to Green Bay, and Vince Lombardi, who was in his first years as head coach, wrote back giving the team permission to use the logo and even sent them the decals for their helmets. Since then, my grandfather has been a die-hard Packers fan and has raised his children and grandchildren to be South Carolina Packer Backers.
How far can you drive a golf ball and what’s your best score for 18 holes?
A good drive for me rolls just shy of 300 yards, but there is no guarantee it finds the fairway, so I tend to tee off with my trusty 2-hybrid. My lowest score through 18 is 80, so the goal for the summer is to start posting scores in the 70s.
What’s your favorite podcast?
The two that have been in my rotation for years are SmartLess and Stuff You Should Know, but Mark Walpole has recently gotten me into The Cinematography Podcast which has quickly become another favorite of mine.
What’s the last book you read?
The last book I read was The Quick and the Dead by Louis L’Amour. It’s a great quick read about a family’s journey west that I would recommend to anyone interested in westerns.
What’s your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Notting Hill. In general, I am not a big fan of rom coms, but this one has been my go-to comfort movie for years, and the “one year later” tracking shot with the seasons changing while Bill Wither’s Aint no Sunshine plays is by far my favorite scene of all time.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?
When it’s not college football season, a perfect Saturday consists of a round of golf, a meal cooked with friends, and a last-minute concert ticket.
What’s your go-to restaurant in the DC area?
The best restaurant in DC is L’Ardente. The 40-layer lasagna is a must, but the rigatoni alla carbonara is a close second.
If you could have dinner with one historical figure, who’d it be and why?
I’d love to have a meal with J.R.R. Tolkien. My favorite course in college was a seminar about the politics of The Lord of the Rings, so I would love the chance to ask him questions about my own interpretations of his work but would spend the majority of our meal listening to even more stories about the worlds and characters he created.
