FP1 Strategies
In this edition of “Meet Our Production Pros,” we’re featuring the contributions of Marianne Martin. Marianne is the Travel Coordinator at FP1. True to her title, Marianne manages the travel arrangements for our entire production team. She books flights, hotels and rental cars for our shoots team, finding the best values to minimize travel costs for our clients and the most efficient flight and lodging options for our team members. Traversing the country to do complicated shoots for high-profile clients can be stressful and it’s a real grind for our team members. Marianne helps alleviate that pressure on our shoots team. She performs a very important function in our creative process.
“Marianne is a vital part of our team,” said Partner Mark Walpole. “As Director of Photography at FP1, I probably travel more than anyone on our team, and I can confidently say Marianne has an uncanny ability to anticipate challenges before they arise. She solves problems. She’s incredibly organized, detail-oriented and always a ray of sunshine. Marianne is a big reason our production team is agile.”
“As the person responsible for pulling together our shoot budgets for our clients, I depend on Marianne for accurate estimates of our travel costs,” said Director Mattie Beckis. “She’s very good at forecasting and minimizing our travel costs. Her attention to detail is vital in communicating costs to our clients and avoiding uncomfortable surprises. Thank you, Marianne.”

How did you get your start in the travel industry?
I attended a 9-month travel school program and interned at the travel agency affiliated with the school. At age 20, I was hired as a corporate travel agent and quickly advanced, becoming a top producer in bookings. My performance led to a promotion to Floor Supervisor of the reservations center, and I also began teaching evening classes at the travel school.
What do you like best about working at FP1?
I truly enjoy working with the production team and my colleagues — the energy is dynamic and there’s never a dull moment!
