Meet Our Production Pros:
Kyle Klase

By FP1 Strategies

FP1 is fortunate to have a team of creative thinkers and hard workers that go the extra mile for our clients. In this installment of “Meet Our Production Pros,” we are highlighting the contributions of Kyle Klase. Kyle, who resides in Missoula, MT, has been with our firm since 2016 and he’s been promoted three times, most recently to the position of Managing Director.

Kyle is an integral part of our shoot process. He films candidates to camera. He shoots and directs b-roll and he helps manage complicated film crews. Since joining our firm, Kyle has spent a lot of long days on airplanes and tired nights in hotel rooms. He brings a positive attitude to our team and his creativity gives our ads a competitive edge in the marketplace.

“I’ve seen Kyle grow from an assistant editor to a key member of our production team,” said FP1 Partner Mark Walpole. “Kyle has such a great eye for visual storytelling. He is able to find those beautiful candid moments that add so much character and texture to our work.”

“Kyle is an outdoorsman at heart, and he brings that free-wheeling spirit to our creative process,” said FP1 Partner Trent Wisecup. “I’ve worked closely with Kyle for several cycles now and he’s developed strong instincts for what we need to achieve on a shoot day to produce high-impact advertising. Some of our most iconic spots have been made stronger by b-roll footage that Kyle shot. He’s a great contributor to our team.”

What do you like best about working at FP1?

Working at FP1, I get to see many parts of the country. I’ve filmed in high-rise boardrooms, and I’ve descended into a Kentucky coal mine. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and bringing their stories to life.

What’s the best shoot you’ve been on?

The one that stands out was when we filmed in Kodiak, Alaska for Senator Lisa Murkowski. Getting to and from the remote island forced us to be very intentional with what gear we brought. The floatplane ride and stunning scenery are memories I’ll have for a lifetime.

What is your favorite Mountain Peak in Montana?

The Bitterroot Mountain range that sits on the Montana/Idaho border has a special place in my heart.

Have you ever seen a Grizzly Bear?

I’m fortunate to have only seen a Grizzly in Glacier National Park from my car. I haven’t bumped into any on the trail yet but have had a few close encounters with Moose.

What’s your favorite beer?

It’s hard to pick one beer since there are so many out there, but Sean at Imagine Nation Brewing in Missoula is always turning out excellent beers.

Last book you read?

Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Peter Attia and Bill Gifford. It’s chock-full of information on not just how to live a long life but how to remain active and healthy later in life.

Favorite movie?

I recently rewatched Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story at my local independent theater. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece, but it is over-the-top comedy and full of easy laughs.

Favorite thing to do on a Saturday?

Ideally, I get up and make some breakfast with my girlfriend and then just get outside. Depending on the season or weather, those activities could be anything from rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding or hunting.

If you could have dinner with one historical figure, who’d it be and why?

As a kid I was always enamored with the story of the Alamo, which was the last chapter in Davey Crockett’s story. I’d love to sit down with Davey and hear about his life and adventures.
