Trent Wisecup Named Creative Director

By FP1 Strategies

Trent Wisecup, a Partner at our firm since 2018, has been named Creative Director of FP1 Strategies and PLUS Communications. An award-winning writer and producer, Trent spearheaded the creative process that earned FP1 the Reed Award for Creative Agency of the Year in 2025. His advertising for U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy won the Gold Pollie Awards for Best in Show and Best Television Campaign. Trent also played a central role in the advertising campaign for Preserve America PAC’s $115 million IE that helped President Trump sweep the “Blue Wall” states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. The advertising for Preserve America PAC won 17 creative awards in the spring.

In addition to his political work, Trent develops award-winning advertising for Fortune 100 companies, leading trade associations and industry coalitions. His ad for a prominent trade association won the Reed Award for Public Affairs TV Ad of the Year in 2025.

“From his first day at FP1, Trent has been all in on making our business stronger,” said Founding Partner Jon Downs. “Trent has worked on some of the biggest Republican campaigns of the past decade and has been a major contributor to our firm’s success. He’s a strong leader in our firm, and we’re excited to see what he does with his new responsibilities.”

“Trent has played a big role in growing our public affairs business at PLUS,” said Founding Partner Danny Diaz. “He knows how to drive a message, navigate a crisis and bolster the reputations of our corporate clients. Trent brings a lot of creativity, high-stakes experience and a strong work ethic to the table.”

“I’ve worked with Trent on some really big races,” said former FP1 Partner Chris LaCivita. “Trent works hard, smart and fast. He’s a creative machine who knows how to win in the toughest places. Trent helped me reelect Senator Ron Johnson in Wisconsin, and his ads against Kamala Harris in the Blue Wall states made a big impact on the presidential race. Trent is a real pro.”

A graduate of Michigan State University, Trent splits his time between Arlington, Virginia and Birmingham, Michigan, where he resides with his wife and three teenage daughters.
