FP1 was involved in two hotly contested Republican primaries in Indiana this spring. We served as the media consultant to Congresswoman Victoria Spartz in IN-05, and we ran a hard-hitting IE campaign for America Leads Action to ensure the defeat of former Congressman John Hostettler in IN-08.
Congresswoman Spartz was outspent by a more than 3-to-1 margin by her opponent. As a state representative, Chuck Goodrich had a political base in the district. As a wealthy CEO, he had the personal resources to self-fund his campaign. Goodrich was a strong candidate who ran a relentless race.
“Congresswoman Spartz prevailed in this primary because voters know that she is a strong conservative who is committed to the America First agenda,” said FP1 Managing Director Mike Young. “We’re proud to be on Victoria’s team, and we know she will continue fighting hard to advance conservative solutions in Congress.”
In IN-08, FP1 ran a seven-figure, four-spot message progression on behalf of America Leads Action that exposed John Hostettler’s votes against a Balanced Budget Amendment, term limits and funding for 700 miles of border fencing. We also educated voters that Hostettler had voted to increase his taxpayer-funded salary while serving in Congress.
“John Hostettler failed Hoosier voters once, and America Leads Action and FP1 ensured that he wouldn’t do it again,” said FP1 Partner Trent Wisecup. “We congratulate Mark Messmer on his victory in this hard-fought primary race. We know he will be an effective member of the House Republican Conference.”
